Frequently Asked Questions
How do I activate a Pro or Trial license in VS Code? expand_more
Click the 1-click activation link (vscode://RCAutomSolutions.automationview/activate?key=...) in your account or email, or run AutomationView: Enter License Key (automationview.pro.enterLicenseKey) from the VS Code Command Palette.
What happens to my files if my Pro subscription ends? expand_more
All .seq, .machine, and .yaml files are plain text stored in your workspace. Your files remain readable and editable, and sequences up to 10 steps continue to simulate and export to Arduino C++ in Free mode.
How many machines can I activate per seat? expand_more
Each Pro seat allows up to 2 simultaneous machine activations (for example, a desktop workstation and a field laptop). You can release or manage active machines from your account or via AutomationView: Manage License in VS Code.
Does AutomationView work offline? expand_more
Yes. Editing, diagnostics, scan-cycle simulation, and PLC code generation run locally via the bundled Python runtime. Activated Pro licenses cache a signed token for offline operation between periodic checks.
